audrey.weeks@fcps.org I am honored to be teaching at Urbana Elementary! I never imagined having an experience quite as wonderful as the opportunities I face every day in the second grade magnet classroom.
I graduated summa cum laude from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania where I received a degree in both Elementary and Early Childhood Education. However, I am a local—having grown up in Montgomery County. I didn’t always plan on returning to the area…but you know what they say, home is where the heart is.
The bottom line for me in my classroom is to keep the best interests of every child in mind. One of my favorite quotes states “FAIR is not giving all children the same; FAIR is giving all children what they need.”
Pajamas, a good movie, and a bowl of moose tracks ice cream is an ideal night for me. Finding time for myself that is comfortable and cozy enables me to be the best for my students because I am left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Without a smile, without energy, I am depriving my class of the joy that should always be associated with learning.
The best way to contact me is through e-mail because it is something that I can use in and out of the school building. I will do my best to ensure a prompt response. Your care and concern is of the utmost importance to me. One of the things that strikes me most about Urbana is the strong sense of parental involvement and communication within the school.
